Karen Clark-Sheard, of The Clark Sisters, and fellow Gospel singer Earnest Pugh will share the stage to host the 9th Annual National Gospel Dance Showcase, “Dance Saints, Dance! 2011.” The event happens Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at 7 p.m. at The Holy Ghost Headquarters, 858 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia. Besides hosting, Sheard and Pugh will also sing some of their fan-favorite smash hits. Also appearing that night? Lonnie Hunter featuring Structure.
Khalif M. Townes, Executive Producer of Dance Saints, Dance!, likes combining Gospel music with dance artistry. Dance Saints, Dance! will be an evening showcasing the talents of dance ministries from across the country.
“Within the sacred walls of many faith-based churches across denominational lines and throughout the world, one may find congregants lifting their voice in song and dancing,” says Townes. “This form of expression to show thankfulness, appreciation, love, and gratitude to our Creator is nothing new. Even in biblical times, people such as King David and others danced before the Lord because of His goodness and the loving kindness that He continues to bestow upon mankind. And so, even now in this 21st century, we celebrate God’s faithfulness and love by assembling together and showcasing the talents He has given us.”
Last year, The 8th Annual Dance Saints, Dance! was featured in Sister 2 Sister Magazine. Tye Tribbett and D’Atra Hicks hosted the event.
