Longtime fans of Christian music know who Phil Keaggy is. Longtime fans of guitar players in general do as well. Keaggy is now over 60, and still going strong, releasing albums left and right. So it was quite a surprise for ChristianMusicDaily.com to find out Phil’s twentysomething son, Ian, is a member of one of mainstream pop music’s hottest bands, Hot Chelle Rae.
Ian plays bass for Hot Chelle Rae, known for selling over 2 million copies of their super catchy smash hit “Tonight Tonight,” and dominating radio airplay with their follow up single “I Like It Like That.” They’ve been touring non-stop and were recently named new artist of the year at the American Music Awards. The band released a new album, “Whatever,” Nov. 29.
Hot Chelle Rae will be headlining their own “Beautiful Freaks” tour, kicking off February 10 in Metarie, Louisiana. Go see them, and say hi to Ian after the concert if you get a chance.
