Richard Smallwood is back with another good Gospel album

Richard Smallwood is one of modern Gospel music’s great composers. He is known for black Gospel church standards like “Total Praise” and “I Love The Lord.” A graduate of Howard University with degrees in both vocal performance and piano, in addition to graduate work in the field of ethnomusicology, Smallwood is in his sixties now, and still going strong on the new album, “Promises.” Here at ChristianMusicDaily.com we especially like tracks 2 and 3: “God of Promise” and “Sow In Tears.” This disc is for people who like congregational singing and own discs by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and Donald Lawrence.
