Three-time Dove Award winning songwriter Jennie Lee Riddle recently signed as a staff writer with Integrity Music, making Integrity her publisher for such popular worship and inspirational songs as WHEN THE STARS BURN DOWN, HOPE OF THE BROKEN WORLD, YOU ARE MY SHEPHERD and ONE TRUE GOD.
Riddle, whose songs have been recorded by Kari Jobe, NewSong, Selah, Phillips Craig & Dean, Newsboys and Jesus Culture, is perhaps best known for penning REVELATION SONG, currently ranked at No. 5 by CCLI. Riddle won two Dove Awards for REVELATION SONG in 2010, including the Gospel Music Association’s “Songwriter of The Year,” followed by a BMI award in 2011. Further confirming the popularity of the song within churches, a Worship Leader magazine poll cited REVELATION SONG as the No. 1 song used by worship leaders around the world.
A five-time Dove Award nominee, Riddle won a third Dove Award in 2012, in the category of “Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year” for HOPE OF THE BROKEN WORLD, as recorded by Selah. Both HOPE OF THE BROKEN WORLD and WHEN THE STARS BURN DOWN (recorded by Phillips Craig & Dean) hit No. 1 at Christian radio, and YOU ARE MY SHEPHERD (Tricia Brock) hit No. 4. All three songs were also featured on Riddle’s critically acclaimed independent album, People & Songs, Opus 1 Collective, which debuted at No. 1 on Christian iTunes in May 2012.
“Over the last few years, Jennie’s songwriting and ministry gifts have gained the respect of the industry and, more importantly, impacted the Church around the world,” says Craig Dunnagan, Integrity’s Vice President of Music Publishing and Ministry Alliances. “We are excited to take our partnership with Jennie to another level with this new songwriting agreement. We believe the best is yet to come as she diligently writes songs from God’s heart and God’s Word to bless the Church.”
“This partnership has been a long time coming,” says Riddle. “For a few years now, the Lord has blessed me with some really wonderful friendships within the music industry and songwriting community. He has taught me to be still and wait until He speaks and then to obey quickly once He does. The timing is perfect, with our recent home purchase in Nashville and position at the National Praise &Worship Institute. My family and I are excited about this new season!”
In addition to her work as a songwriter, Riddle is also a conference speaker, worship leader, teacher, mentor and consultant. She and her husband, Darrin, maintain their family home in McKinney, Texas, and split their time between it and their “empty-nester” Nashville cottage that Jennie uses for songwriting.
